Cleanse, moisturise, protect. A calm, consistent routine beats a bathroom shelf full of products you never finish.
Skincare does not need to be complicated. A short routine that you can repeat every day is usually more useful than an ambitious routine that only happens on good days.
1. Cleanse gently
Choose a face wash that suits your skin and use it consistently. If your skin feels tight or uncomfortable afterwards, the cleanser may be too strong. Mild and steady wins here.
2. Add moisture
A moisturiser helps keep the skin comfortable, whether your skin is oily or dry. Look for a texture you enjoy using, because the best moisturiser is the one you will actually reach for every day.
3. Protect in the daytime
Sunscreen is the most useful everyday step for protecting skin over time. Apply it in the morning and reapply when you are outside for long periods. A wide-brim hat and shade are good company for it.
Keep the extras optional
A serum, mask or exfoliant can be a lovely addition, but it should not replace the basics. Introduce one product at a time, give it a few weeks and pay attention to how your skin responds.
Consistency, a comfortable routine and a little patience will take you further than a drawer full of half-used bottles.
